Jeremiah 10

“Who would not fear you, O King of nations? That title belongs to you alone! Among all the wise people of the earth and in all the kingdoms of the world, there is no one like you.” (Jeremiah 10:7, NLT)

I am so thankful that our God is the living God. I am thankful that He is the Creator of heaven and earth. He is a good and faithful God, and not like the false gods that many in Judah were worshiping. Even today, people worship things other than the LORD.

Our word for “worship” comes from the old English word “worthship”. It means to ascribe worth to someone or something. Think of the many things people value other than God. But God alone is worthy of our worship. Jesus Christ has earned the title of Savior, Redeemer, Messiah and Friend. Our God is worthy to be feared, for He is the King of the nations. One day Jesus Christ will receive all the nations as His inheritance from the Father (Psalm 2:8). Everyone who is wise worships Him now, for He has been given the name that is above every other name. And there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

Let’s begin the day counting our blessings and giving God thanks for who He is and for all He has done to redeem us to Himself for all eternity!
