Numbers 28:16-29:40

God gave instructions to the children of Israel for the various feasts. In addition to their daily morning and evening sacrifices, they were to bring sweet savor offerings consisting of burnt, grain and drink offerings. On some of the feasts they were also to sacrifice a sin offering. All of these offerings pointed to Jesus Christ who would offer His body for us. They have all been fulfilled in His sacrifice on the cross.

Often we think about the the things we give to God, but do we consider how He views them?

When I receive a greeting card for my birthday, Christmas, Father's Day or some other occasion, I love to read what people have written. When someone takes the time to write a personal note about how they feel about me, it means so much. And I think that when we bring our offerings to God that He must feel the same way. That is why He called these offerings a sweet savor. It's not that God loved the smell of barbequed meat! It's that He savored the love that these sacrifices represented.

What can we give to God today that will come up as a sweet savor to Him? How can we show our appreciation for who He is and for what He has done for us?
