Psalm 146-147

“The LORD lifts up the humble; He casts the wicked down to the ground.” (Psalm 147:6, NKJV)

At the “Farm” where we are doing the pastors’ conference, they have a school with 400 children. We were blessed to have them perform a drama for us and sing a song. What is it about children that captures our hearts? Whenever we do our Christmas Family Service it is always the children we most enjoy.

When Christ’s disciples asked Him who was the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, He called a little child to Him and set him before them.

“Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3–4, NKJV)

This is easy for us to do, right? No, it sounds easy, but actually it is quite difficult. Children are dependent on others, but we like to be independent. Children honor others as being more important than themselves, but we think we are more important than others. Children obey instructions (usually) but we question authority. We cannot be naïve around wicked people, but we must humble ourselves before God and before those whom He has placed over us.

Remember, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. I want to receive more grace. Don’t you?
