“God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore.” (1 Kings 4:29, NLT)

It is the very nature of God to give. He has given us all the marvelous creation of the world with all its variety, delights and wonders. He has given us beautiful sunsets and innumerable stars. He has given us bodies that are fearfully and wonderfully made. Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave him very great wisdom, understanding and knowledge. Solomon’s wisdom far surpassed the wisdom of anyone else so that it became world-renowned.

“And kings from every nation sent their ambassadors to listen to the wisdom of Solomon.” (1 Kings 4:34, NLT)

As God gave Solomon wisdom, so He has given each of us a spiritual gift (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). He gives this to us not to squander on ourselves but for the good of all. The greatest joy in life is to share it with others for the glory of God.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16, NKJV)

What is your gift? How can you perfect it? How can you share it more with others? This will be a never-ending source of blessing to you and to everyone else you touch.
