Daniel 11:36-12:13

“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.” (Daniel 12:3, NKJV)

Daniel had received an overwhelming vision from the Lord. An angel explained the things that would happen to his people, the Jews, until the end. But Daniel did not understand. These things were beyond his grasp. So the angel told Daniel to shut up the words and seal the book until the end when knowledge would increase.

I believe we are that generation with increased prophetic knowledge. We have seen the first coming of Christ, which Daniel did not see. We have the entire revelation of the New Testament including the events that will occur during the Great Tribulation. While we do not understand how everything will be fulfilled, we have a much better grasp than Daniel had. Now we see the stage being set for this final world ruler who will exalt and magnify himself above every god. Soon the church will be raptured, the Antichrist revealed, and the final seven will begin (Daniel 9:27).

But those who are wise will shine. Like the stars in the sky, the darker it is the more visible they become. We cannot shine on our own because the light does not come from us. It is only generated as we abide in Christ, for apart from Him we can do nothing. He is the Source and we must be plugged in. As we walk in the Spirit, we turn others to righteousness, and we shine like the stars forever and ever. The world may fall apart, but if we believe in Jesus Christ and abide in His word, then our light will never be extinguished, and we will guide others in the way of eternal life.

“Heavenly Father, thank you for saving us from our sins. Thank you for imparting to us the grace, wisdom, and truth of Christ. Help us walk in the Spirit today and not gratify the flesh. Help us shine like your stars, guiding others to Jesus and to eternal life. In His name we pray. Amen.”
