Daniel 7:1-14

“I was watching in the night visions, and behold, one like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away. And His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.” (Daniel 7:13–14, NKJV)

A Day is coming when there will be a new administration. The corrupt systems of this world will pass away. Righteousness will be exalted and wickedness will be destroyed. This will usher in a new age of justice, peace and joy. The Son of Man will come with the clouds of heaven. Whereas He came the first time as a Suffering Servant to take away our sins, when He returns He will be a conquering King who will sit on the throne of David. The government will be on His shoulders, and of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end (Isaiah 9:7). He will receive dominion, glory and a kingdom, so that all people, nations and languages will serve Him. He will rule with a rod of iron, and His kingdom will endure forever!

In visions of the night, Daniel was transported to the future where he actually saw this happening. God gave Daniel this revelation so that despite the evil of this world, we could be assured of a future hope. The best is yet to come!

Hope is life, and our blessed hope is eternal life. It is the joyful, confident expectation of things to come. It is anchored, not in wishful thinking, but in the sure promises of God. This hope motivates us through life and comforts us in death. It was the faithful companion of the apostle Paul in his final days.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7–8, NKJV)

Do you have this hope? It is not tethered to the circumstances of life, but to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is the prized possession of everyone who loves His appearing!
