Psalm 10

May 15, 2023    Pastor Daryl Zachman

“Arise, O LORD! O God, lift up Your hand! Do not forget the humble.” (Psalm 10:12, NKJV)

The psalmist was overwhelmed with his enemies. Everywhere he turned he saw them prospering over the innocent and helpless. They oppressed others, and it seemed there was no one to stop them. The LORD was standing far away, hiding Himself and doing nothing.

Have you ever felt abandoned to the evil swirling around you? But God is still there even if you can’t see or feel Him. God sees, He hears, He knows, and He cares. He will not forget the humble who trust in Him. He will be their defense. The day will come when the wicked will get caught in their plots, and the evil that they now conceal will be exposed and judged. Like a lion, he waited to pounce on the helpless, but God will arise to crush him in the day of His wrath.

“Father, thank you for seeing everything going on, and promising never to abandon us. Help us patiently wait upon you for your salvation. Strengthen us to stand in the evil day and give us faith and wisdom to overcome. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.”
